Dr. Richard Bernstein has over 25 years in the managed care industry. Prior to his joining CareAdvantage in 2002, he was a Senior Medical Director for regional and national managed care organizations in the Greater New York area. Dr. Bernstein has extensive experience in clinical data management, risk management, physician reimbursement incentives, disease and case management, quality management and measurement, clinical practice guidelines, network development, organizational ethics, staff training, patient-physician communication, and strategic planning. He has been a practicing, board certified internist for the past 30 years and was medical director of single specialty and multi-specialty group practices.
Dr. Bernstein is a graduate of Yale College, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and the Residency Program in Social Medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He maintains an academic appointment at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine.
